Building For Our Future

Help us honor the history of, and generate new appreciation for, the American railroad by supporting our restoration effort. By supporting our campaign you can play an active role in creating Frederick County’s newest museum and visitor attraction. Specifically, our museum restoration campaign goals include:

• Preserving and stabilizing the historic 110-year old museum building

• Installing state of the art exhibits

• Renovating the building for increased use and public access

 Phase One restoration efforts include:

• Repair windows, roof and brickwork

• Update heating and air conditioning systems

• Create public restrooms

• Install an elevator for second story access

• Create a new entrance, preserving the existing architectural archway detail

• Build an enclosed entrance in the rear of the building that provides stairway access to the second floor

• Create better storage facilities for museum collections

• Improve display space for museum exhibits
